Trim - B-Pillar - Upper - LH - Remove And Replace: Removal

  1. Remove the LH lower B-pillar trim, refer to TRIM - B-PILLAR - LOWER - LH (REMOVE AND INSTALL) .
  2. Use a trim tool to remove the plastic cap that covers the pretensioner anchor bolt on the LH 1st row seatbelt.

  3. Remove the anchor bolt and inboard upper pretensioner cover (torque 9 N.m).
    CAUTION: Replace all patchbolt(s).

  4. Discard the anchor bolt and inboard upper pretensioner cover.

  5. Carefully release the seatbelt assembly from the outer pretensioner cover.
  6. Wrap the seatbelt connector with protective tape to prevent it from damaging interior trim.

  7. Carefully release the clips that secure the B-pillar upper trim to the body. Gently pull the lower edge away from the body and release the locator posts from the headliner.
    CAUTION: Take care not to damage component(s).

  8. Allow the B-pillar upper trim to rest on the seatbelt buckle.

  9. Remove the screws (x3) that secure the seatbelt guide to the B-pillar trim.

  10. Route the seatbelt and seatbelt guide through the B-pillar trim.
  11. Remove the B-pillar trim.
