Trunk Lid Removal and Installation (Sedan): Removal

WARNING: The torsion bars are repulsive. They may spring and cause a personal injury if removed carelessly. Be sure to remove the torsion bars carefully.

Remove trunk lid trim (if equipped).
Remove trunk lid opener wire and trunk room harness from trunk lid panel (1).
Remove trunk lid attaching bolts (2) and trunk lid.

NOTE: Handle removed trunk lid carefully. Dropping it can cause damage to itself and vehicle body.
Remove torsion bars (1).

Fold rear seat back forward.
Remove center pillar inner lower trims (1) and side sill scuffs (2).

Remove high mounted stop light (if equipped).

Remove rear seat side backs (1). Refer to REAR SEAT REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

Remove rear pillar inner trims (3), partition front trims (1) and partition trim (2).

Remove hinge attaching bolts (1) and take out trunk lid hinges.
