"PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF" Indicator Lamp Check

  1. Confirm that no load is applied on passenger seat (occupant, luggage, etc.). Turn ignition switch to ON position.
  2. Check that "PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF" indicator (1) lights for 3 seconds and then goes OFF. If "PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF" indicator lamp does not come ON or remains ON, check DTC of SDM referring to DTC CHECK FOR SDM: ADVANCED AIR BAG . If no DTC is detected by SDM, proceed next step.

  3. Fold the seatback once by pulling the lever and then adjust the angle of seatback to desired position.
  4. Recheck "PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF" indicator lamp for operation repeating step  1). If "PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF" indicator lamp remains ON, perform occupant classification system rezeroing and occupant classification system sensitivity check referring to OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM REZEROING: ADVANCED AIR BAG  and OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM SENSITIVITY CHECK: ADVANCED AIR BAG .
