Brake Pedal-To-Floor Clearance
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Mitsubishi Outlander. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Turn up the carpet etc. under the brake pedal.
- Start the engine, depress the brake pedal with approximately 110 lbs. (490 N) of force, and measure the clearance between the brake pedal and the floorboard. See Fig 1 .
- If clearance is not 3.9" (100 mm), check for air trapped in the brake line, thickness of the disc brake pad, clearance between the lining and the drum and dragging in the parking brake. And then adjust and replace defective parts as required.
- Return the carpet etc. to its original position.
