H25 Engine

  1. Disconnect negative (-) cable at battery.
  2. Inspect belt for cracks, cuts, deformation, wear and cleanliness. If any defect exists, replace belt.
  3. Check belt tension. If belt is too tight or too loose, adjust it to specification by adjusting alternator position. Belt tension ("b") should be .35-.43" (9-11 mm) under 22 Lbs. (100 N) of pressure for used belt and .28-.35" (7-11 mm) under 22 Lbs. (100 N) of pressure for new belt. See Fig 1 and DRIVE BELT SPECIFICATIONS  table.
  4. Tighten alternator adjusting bolt and pivot bolts.
  5. Connect negative battery.
