Engine Cooling Fan Drive Belt

- Disconnect negative cable at battery.
- Inspect belt for cracks, cuts, deformation, wear and cleanliness. If nay defect exists, replace belt.
- Check belt for tension. If belt is too tight or too loose, adjust it to specification by adjusting cooling fan pulley position. Belt tension ("a") should be .20-.27" (5-7 mm) under 22 Lbs. (100 N) for used belt and .16-.19" (4-5 mm) under 22 Lbs. (100 N) for new belt. See Fig 1 and DRIVE BELT SPECIFICATIONS table.
