A/C Compressor & Power Steering Belt

  1. Disconnect negative (-) cable at battery.
  2. Inspect belt for cracks, cuts deformation, wear and cleanliness. If any defect exists, replace.
  3. Check that belt is free from any damage and properly fitted in pulley groove.
  4. Check belt tension. Belt tension deflection ("a") should be .16-.28" (4-7 mm) under 22 Lbs. (100 N) of pressure. See Figure .
