Diagnostic Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Suzuki XL-7 and 2003 Suzuki Grand Vitara. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Turn ignition switch to ON position and ensure AIR BAG warning light bulb is operational. If AIR BAG warning light is okay, go to next step. If AIR BAG warning light is not okay, repair circuit as necessary. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . See WIRE REPAIR .
  2. Using scan tool, clear all DTC's, then retrieve DTC's. If DTC B1061 is displayed, substitute a known-good SDM. See SENSING & DIAGNOSTIC MODULE (SDM)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If DTC B1061 is not displayed, recheck air bag system. Go to AIR BAG DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under DIAGNOSTICS.
