Diagnostic Procedure

  1. Ensure ignition is off. If driver or passenger-side air bag module has not deployed, go to next step. If driver or passenger-side air bag module has deployed, perform inspections and repairs as necessary. See POST-COLLISION INSPECTION .
  2. Inspect front of vehicle and undercarriage for signs of impact. If any sign of impact is present, perform inspections and repairs as necessary. See POST-COLLISION INSPECTION . If no signs of impact are present, substitute a known-good SDM and retest. See SENSING & DIAGNOSTIC MODULE (SDM)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Go to next step. Reconnect all components. Using scan tool, clear DTC's. Go to AIR BAG DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under DIAGNOSTICS.
