Check for excessive deposits on EGR valve pintle or seat. Check for deposits which may interfere with EGR valve extending completely or cause pintle to stick. Check for poor, lose or damage to harness connector and wiring harness. If wiring appears okay, using scan tool observe ACTUAL EGR POSITION display while moving all related harnesses and connectors. A change in display indicates area of fault. Reviewing FAILURE RECORDS vehicle mileage since last failure may help determine how often condition that caused failure occurred, and may assist in diagnosing problem.
