Diagnostic Aids

Check for following conditions:

Damaged, missing or loose fuel filler cap.
FVP sensor shares a 5-volt reference signal circuit with MAP sensor. If MAP sensor DTCs are also set with this DTC, check 5-volt reference circuit. See WIRING DIAGRAMS article.
FVP sensor shares a ground circuit with ECT, TPS, CKP, CMP or A/T temperature sensors. If DTCs related to theses sensors are also set with this DTC, check FVP sensor ground circuit. See WIRING DIAGRAMS article.
Poor, loose, backed out, improper mating, broken locks or damaged terminal connections in PCM harness connector.
Damage to wiring harnesses or harness connectors. Check for open, short to ground or short to voltage in EVAP solenoid, EVAP purge solenoid and FVP sensor.

Reviewing FAILURE RECORDS vehicle mileage since last failure may help determine how often condition that caused failure occurred, and may assist in diagnosing problem.
