DTC Confirmation Test

Turn ignition off, connect scan tool and turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Vehicle is at an altitude of 8000 feet or below, barometric pressure is 75 kPa or more, intake air temperature is 18°F (-8°C) or more and engine coolant temperature is 18-176°F (-8-80°C). Drive vehicle at 50-60 MPH for 10 minutes or until engine coolant temperature is 176°F (80°C). Using scan tool, check for current or pending DTC P0128. See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If DTC resets, go to DIAGNOSIS & REPAIR PROCEDURE .
