Oil Pan: Removal

- Raise and support vehicle. Remove front wheels. Remove rack and pinion steering gear. See appropriate article in STEERING . Remove front differential housing with differential from chassis (if equipped). See appropriate DIFFERENTIALS article in DRIVE AXLES.
- Drain engine oil. Remove lower oil pan bolts and separate lower oil pan from upper oil pan. Remove oil strainer bracket. Disconnect radiator outlet pipe from upper oil pan.
- Remove bolts from upper oil pan. Rest oil pan on crossmember. Remove oil strainer bolts and oil strainer. Remove upper oil pan.
