Removal (XL-7)

  1. Disconnect negative (-) cable at battery.
  2. Drain engine coolant.
  3. Detach fuse/relay box.
  4. Remove strut tower bar.
  5. Disconnect accelerator cable (1) and A/T throttle cable (2) (for A/T model) from throttle body. See Figure .
  6. Disconnect water hoses from throttle body.
  7. Remove surge tank cover.
  8. Remove intake air pipe (1) and surge tank pipe (2). See Figure .
  9. Disconnect connectors of TP sensor (2) and IAC valve (3). See Figure .
  10. Disconnect ground terminal (6) from intake manifold (5). See Figure .
  11. Remove clamp bracket (4) and harness clamps from intake collector. See Figure .
  12. Disconnect connectors of EVAP canister purge valve (1) and EGR valve (5). See Figure .
  13. Disconnect PCV valve (6) from cylinder head with hose connected, breather hose (3) from cylinder head and EVAP canister purge valve hose (2). See Figure .
  14. Detach EGR pipe (4) from exhaust manifold. See Figure .
  15. Remove throttle body (3) and intake collector (2) from intake manifold (1). See Figure .
  16. Disconnect hoses of PCV from throttle body.
  17. Remove throttle body from intake collector.
