Removal (Aerio)

WARNING:
To avoid being burned, do not remove drain plug (1) and radiator cap while engine and radiator are still hot. Scalding fluid and steam can blow out under pressure if the plug and cap are removed too soon. See Figure
.
- Disconnect negative cable at battery.
- Drain coolant.
- Remove engine cover. See ENGINE COVER .
- Remove air cleaner outlet hose. See Figure .
- Disconnect accelerator cable from throttle body.
- Disconnect accelerator cable with cable bracket from intake manifold. See Figure .
- Disconnect the following electric lead wires:
- IAC valve coupler
- TP sensor coupler
- MAF sensor coupler
- EGR valve coupler
- EVAP canister purge valve coupler
- MAP sensor coupler
- Ground terminal from throttle body
- Disconnect the following hoses:
- Brake booster hose from intake manifold
- PCV hose from PCV valve
- Fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose from intake manifold
- Coolant hoses from throttle body and cylinder head
- Breather hose from throttle body
- Vacuum hose from EVAP canister purge valve
- Remove throttle body (1) and throttle body gasket (2) from intake manifold (3). See Figure .
- Remove intake manifold front stiffener (1) and rear stiffener (2). See Figure .
- Disconnect coolant pipe (1) from intake manifold. See Figure .
- Remove intake manifold (2) from cylinder head, then its gasket (1). See Figure .
