Removal (Montero)

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2003 Mitsubishi Outlander, 2003 Mitsubishi Montero Sport, 2003 Mitsubishi Montero, 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer, and 2003 Mitsubishi Galant. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Remove skid plate and under cover. Loosen radiator drain plug and remove radiator cap to discharge coolant. Remove battery and battery tray. Remove air intake hose and heater hose. See Figure. Remove radiator shroud upper and lower covers. See Fig 1.
Remove drive belt and cooling fan. Remove cooling fan pulley and drive belt auto tensioner. Remove accessory mount stay and power steering pump assembly. Remove A/C compressor assembly and compressor bracket. Remove cooling fan bracket assembly and accessory mount assembly.
Remove upper timing belt cover assembly. Remove crankshaft pulley and timing belt indicator bracket. Remove lower timing belt cover assembly and crankshaft position sensor. See Fig 4.
