Removal (Lancer)

  1. Remove left under cover. Raise engine and transaxle assembly to remove its weight off of front engine mount. Remove front engine mount and bracket. See Fig 1. Remove power steering pump and alternator drive belt. See Fig 2. Using Crankshaft Pulley Retaining Tool (MD998719 and MB990767) remove crankshaft pulley. See Fig 3.
  2. Disconnect crankshaft position sensor. Remove timing belt upper cover. Remove power steering hose clamp. Remove generator belt tension adjustment bracket. Remove lower timing belt cover. Remove crankshaft position sensor.
