Removal (Outlander)

  1. Remove air cleaner assembly. See Figure. Disconnect PCV hose. Disconnect fuel injector connectors and idle air control sensor connector. Disconnect throttle position sensor connector and manifold differential pressure sensor connector.
  2. Disconnect vacuum hose. Disconnect high-pressure fuel hose and "O" ring. Disconnect fuel return hose. Remove bypass fuel hose. Remove fuel pressure regulator and "O" ring. Remove fuel rail bolts. Using care to not drop any injector, lift fuel rail and injectors from engine. Injectors may be removed after fuel rail is removed from intake manifold. Remove insulators, rings injectors, "O" rings and grommets.
