Removal (Outlander)
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2003 Mitsubishi Outlander, 2003 Mitsubishi Montero Sport, 2003 Mitsubishi Montero, 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer, and 2003 Mitsubishi Galant. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Remove air cleaner assembly. See Figure. Disconnect PCV hose. Disconnect fuel injector connectors and idle air control sensor connector. Disconnect throttle position sensor connector and manifold differential pressure sensor connector.
- Disconnect vacuum hose. Disconnect high-pressure fuel hose and "O" ring. Disconnect fuel return hose. Remove bypass fuel hose. Remove fuel pressure regulator and "O" ring. Remove fuel rail bolts. Using care to not drop any injector, lift fuel rail and injectors from engine. Injectors may be removed after fuel rail is removed from intake manifold. Remove insulators, rings injectors, "O" rings and grommets.
