Removal (Montero)

  1. Raise and support vehicle. Locate EVAP canister, near rear of fuel tank. See Fig 2. Remove appropriate rear suspension components to gain access to EVAP canister. See Fig 1.
  2. On models equipped with rear heater, remove rear heater pipe bolts. On models equipped with rear A/C, remove rear A/C pipe bolts.
  3. On all models, disconnect frame wiring harness. Label and disconnect vent, purge and vapor hoses from EVAP canister. Remove EVAP canister assembly. Remove evaporative emission canister bracket "D". See Fig 2. Remove evaporative emission canister bracket "A". Remove evaporative emission canister bracket "B". Remove evaporative emission canister.
