Disassembly & Reassembly (Diamante - With Traction Control)

NOTE: Fixed SAS is correctly adjusted at factory and should not be removed. If fixed SAS should happen to have been removed, carry out fixed SAS adjustment. See FIXED SPEED ADJUSTING SCREW under IDLE SPEED & MIXTURE in ON-VEHICLE ADJUSTMENTS article.
  1. To disassemble, remove throttle position sensor and accelerator pedal position sensor. See Fig 1. Remove dash pot, lever assembly and idle air control motor. Remove "O" ring and water hose. Remove idle speed control body assembly and gasket. Remove bracket. If any idle speed adjusting screw is removed, basic idle speed will need to be adjusted. See BASIC IDLE SPEED under IDLE SPEED & MIXTURE in ON-VEHICLE ADJUSTMENTS article.
  2. To reassemble, reverse disassembly procedure. If a vacuum port or passage is clogged, use compressed air to clean it out. Install throttle position sensor and accelerator pedal position sensor so that they are positioned as shown. See Fig 2 and Figure . Install NEW "O" rings and idle speed control body assembly gasket. Tighten fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Ensure throttle position sensor and accelerator pedal position sensor are working properly.
