Disassembly & Reassembly (Montero Sport)(3.5L)

- To disassemble, remove dash pot and bracket. See Fig 1. Remove throttle position sensor and accelerator lever body assembly. Remove idle air control motor and "O" ring. If any idle speed adjusting screw is removed, basic idle speed will need to be adjusted. See BASIC IDLE SPEED under IDLE SPEED & MIXTURE in ON-VEHICLE ADJUSTMENTS article.
- To reassemble, reverse disassembly procedure. If a vacuum port or passage is clogged, use compressed air to clean it out. If air bypass screw was removed, install NEW "O" ring. Install NEW idle air control motor "O" ring. Install throttle position sensor so it is positioned as shown. See Fig 2. Turn throttle position sensor 115 degrees counterclockwise to set it. Tighten fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
