Removal (Galant 3.0L)

- Release fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE under FUEL SYSTEMS. Remove throttle body. See THROTTLE BODY .
- Disconnect accelerator cable and manifold differential pressure sensor connector. See Fig 1. Disconnect control wiring harness and power steering wiring harness combination connector. Disconnect EGR solenoid valve connector. Disconnect evaporative emission purge solenoid valve connector. Disconnect knock sensor connector and crankshaft position sensor connector. Disconnect right heated oxygen sensor connector.
- Disconnect fuel injector connectors and distributor connector. Disconnect control wiring harness and injector wiring harness combination connector. Disconnect vacuum hose and vacuum pipe. Remove EGR solenoid valve, evaporative emission purge solenoid valve and vacuum control valve. Disconnect brake booster vacuum hose.
- Remove EGR valve and EGR pipe. See Figure and Figure . Remove power steering pump drive belt. Remove power steering pump bracket stay. Remove front intake manifold plenum stay. Remove rear intake manifold plenum stay. Remove engine mount stay. Remove intake manifold plenum and gasket. Remove manifold differential pressure sensor.
