Removal (Diamante)

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2003 Mitsubishi Outlander, 2003 Mitsubishi Montero Sport, 2003 Mitsubishi Montero, 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer, and 2003 Mitsubishi Galant. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove engine cover. See Fig 1. Remove throttle body. See THROTTLE BODY . Raise and support front wheels. Disconnect power steering fluid return hose. Connect a vinyl hose to return hose, and drain oil into a container. See Figure. Disconnect connector from crankshaft position sensor. See Figure. While operating starter motor intermittently, turn steering wheel all the way to left and right several times to drain all of power steering fluid fluid.
  2. Disconnect purge control solenoid valve connector. See Fig 3. Remove purge control solenoid valve. Remove EGR valve assembly. Disconnect brake booster vacuum hose and EGR pipe assembly. Disconnect fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose.
  3. Remove power steering pump belt. Remove power steering pressure hose and pump. Remove power steering pump bracket. Remove front and rear intake manifold plenum stays. Remove solenoid valve assembly. Remove intake manifold plenum and gasket. Remove manifold differential pressure sensor.
