Installation (Diamante)

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2003 Mitsubishi Outlander, 2003 Mitsubishi Montero Sport, 2003 Mitsubishi Montero, 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer, and 2003 Mitsubishi Galant. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

To install, reverse removal procedure. Install NEW intake manifold plenum gasket as shown. See Fig 1. Install NEW EGR valve and EGR valve pipe gaskets.
When installing power steering pressure hose, ensure that notched part of pressure hose eye joint is at position where it contacts oil pump suction connector. See Fig 3. Connect power steering return hoses securely, and secure them with clips. Fill oil reservoir with specified fluid up to lower position of filter, and bleed air from system. See POWER STEERING SYSTEM BLEEDING under POWER STEERING SYSTEM.
Adjust power steering belt tension. See QUICK-SERVICE in SERVICE & ADJUSTMENT SPECIFICATIONS article. Tighten fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
