Removal & Installation (Aerio, Esteem 1.8L, Grand Vitara, Vitara & XL-7)

On 1.8L, 2.0L, 2.5L and 2.7L engines, each cylinder has its own ignition coil pack (igniter/ignition coil). See Fig 1 . Turn ignition off. Remove ignition coil cover(s). Disconnect ignition coil harness connectors. Remove retaining bolts from each coil. Turning coils and spark plug boots, slowly pull up to remove coil pack assembly from spark plugs. Remove spark plugs. To install, reverse removal procedure.
