Camshaft Position Sensor: Installation

- Install NEW "O" ring on CMP sensor and coat with engine oil. Install CMP sensor while aligning drive coupling into slot of camshaft. See Fig 1 . CMP sensor drive coupling and camshaft slot are offset. If CMP sensor coupling does not fit into slot, turn CMP sensor shaft 180 degrees.
- Tighten CMP sensor bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Reconnect CMP sensor harness connector. Adjust ignition timing to specification. See IGNITION TIMING in ON-VEHICLE ADJUSTMENTS article.
