Circuit Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Suzuki Vitara. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

EBCM is connected to ECM (PCM) through idle up request circuit. During certain ABS events, EBCM will command

ECM (PCM) to increase engine idle speed. EBCM sends a 12 V signal on idle up request circuit to ECM (PCM). When idle up request is needed, EBCM will pull voltage low to under 1 V to signal to ECM (PCM) that an increase in idle speed is needed.
