Diagnosis & Repair Procedure

  1. Perform DTC CONFIRMATION TEST  . If DTC P1510 is set, go to next step. If DTC P1510 is not set, problem is intermittent. System is okay at this time. See INTERMITTENTS TROUBLE SHOOTING - NO CODES article.
  2. Start engine. Backprobing, measure voltage between ground and ECM (PCM) 35-pin connector E61 terminal No. 35 (White wire). See Figure . If reading is not 10-14 volts, go to next step. If reading is 10-14 volts, problem is intermittent. System is okay at this time. See INTERMITTENTS TROUBLE SHOOTING - NO CODES article. If intermittent problem is not found, replace ECM (PCM) and go to DTC CONFIRMATION TEST  .
  3. Check for open or short in White wire between ECM (PCM) 35-pin connector E61 and DOME fuse (10-amp) located in under-dash fuse/relay block. Repair as necessary and go to DTC CONFIRMATION TEST  . See ENGINE PERFORMANCE in SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS article in ELECTRICAL. If wire is okay, check for blown DOME fuse (10-amp). Replace as necessary and go to DTC CONFIRMATION TEST  .
