Diagnosis & Repair Procedure

  1. Check for DTC P0155. See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If DTC P0155 is not set, go to next step. If DTC P0155 is set, go to DTC P0155: HO2S BANK NO. 2 (RIGHT BANK), SENSOR NO. 1 (B2 S1), HEATER CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION  .
  2. Perform DTC CONFIRMATION TEST  . If DTC P0133 is set, go to next step. If DTC P0133 is not set, problem is intermittent. System is okay at this time. See INTERMITTENTS TROUBLE SHOOTING - NO CODES article.
  3. Check for short or open in Red wire between HO2S Bank 1, Sensor 1 and ECM (PCM) 26-pin connector C51-3 terminals No. 4. Also check for short or open in Gray/Yellow wire between HO2S Bank 1, Sensor 1 and ECM (PCM) 26-pin connector C51-3 terminals No. 21. See ENGINE PERFORMANCE in SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS article in ELECTRICAL. Repair as necessary and go to DTC CONFIRMATION TEST  . If wires are okay, go to next step.
  4. Replace HO2S Bank 1, Sensor 1 and go to DTC CONFIRMATION TEST  . If problem still persists, replace ECM (PCM) and go to DTC CONFIRMATION TEST  .
