When measuring the belt deflection
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Mitsubishi Outlander. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Apply a pressure of approximately 100N (22 pounds) at the center (arrow area) between the sprocket as shown then inspect whether the deflection is within the standard value.
- Standard value: 5 - 10 mm (0.20 - 0.39 inch)
- If not within the standard value, adjust the belt tension. (Refer to TIMING BELT .)
