Oil Pan and Oil Pump Strainer Removal and Installation: Installation

Install new O-ring (1) to lower crankcase as shown in the figure.
Install two new O-rings to oil pump strainer.

Apply sealant "A" to upper oil pan (1) sealing surface area as shown in the figure.

Place the upper oil pan (1) on the cross member and suspension member (just beneath the lower crankcase). At this point install oil pump strainer.
Tightening torque
1. Oil pump strainer bolt (a): 11 N.m (1.1 kg-m, 8.0 lb-ft)

Install upper oil pan (1) to lower crankcase.
Tightening torque
1. Oil pan bolt (to lower crankcase) (b): 11 N.m (1.1 kg-m, 8.0 lb-ft)
2. Oil pan bolt (to lower crankcase) (c): 27 N.m (2.7 kg-m, 19.5 lb-ft)

Install bracket (3) to oil pump strainer (2) and upper oil pan (1).
Tightening torque
1. Oil pump strainer bracket bolt (d): 11 N.m (1.1 kg-m, 8.0 lb-ft)

Apply sealant "A" to lower oil pan sealing surface area as shown in the figure.
1. Sealant: 99000-31250

Install lower oil pan to upper oil pan.
Tightening torque
1. Oil pan bolt (to upper oil pan) (e): 11 N.m (1.1 kg-m, 8.0 lb-ft)
Install new gasket (1) and drain plug (2) to oil pan.
Tightening torque
1. Engine oil drain plug (f): 50 N.m (5.0 kg-m, 36.5 lb-ft)

Attach radiator outlet pipe to upper oil pan.
Install front differential housing FRONT DIFFERENTIAL DISMOUNTING AND REMOUNTING .
Install rack and pinion assembly. Refer to P/S GEAR BOX ASSEMBLY REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
Refill front differential housing with gear oil if drained, referring to Gear Oil Replacement in Owner's Manual .
Install oil level gauge guide with new O-ring.
Refill engine with engine oil referring to Engine Oil and Filter Change in Owner's Manual .
Check wheel alignment, referring to SPECIFICATIONS & PROCEDURES .
