Oil Pan & Oil Pump Strainer Removal & Installation: Removal

- Remove oil level gauge guide.
- Raise vehicle and remove both front wheels.
- Remove rack and pinion assembly. Refer to P/S GEAR BOX ASSEMBLY REMOVAL & INSTALLATION .
- Remove front differential housing (1) with differential (2) from chassis if equipped. Refer to DIFFERENTIAL FRONT - H25 ENGINE MODEL or DIFFERENTIAL - FRONT - H27 ENGINE MODEL .
- Drain engine oil by removing drain plug.
- Remove stiffener (for H27 engine).
Remove lower oil pan according to the following procedure.
- Remove lower oil pan bolts and nuts.
- Cut sealant indicated by hatched line in the figure using special tool and hammer (1).CAUTION: Be careful not to damage stud bolts (4) when cutting sealant.

- Remove lower oil pan (2) from upper oil pan (1).
- Remove oil strainer bracket.
- Remove upper oil pan according to the following procedure.
- Remove upper oil pan bolts and nuts.
- Cut sealant at hatched part as shown using special tool (A) and hammer as same manner of step 6
.CAUTION: Be careful not to damage bolts (1) and oil pump mating surfaces between upper oil pan (2) and crank case when cutting sealant.

- Lower upper oil pan until it stops by way of cross member and oil pump strainer and keep it at that position temporarily.
- With wrench inserted between upper oil pan and lower crankcase, and oil pump strainer mounting bolt removed, remove oil pump strainer (1).
- Remove upper oil pan from temporarily supported position.
