Diagnostic Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Suzuki XL-7. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Pull top of glove box outward while depressing stops. Allow glove box to fall toward passenger seat. Disengage Connector Position Assurance (CPA) clip and disconnect passenger-side air bag module connector. See Figure.
  2. Connect STEERING WHEEL connector of Load Tool (09932-75010) to harness side of passenger-side air bag module connector using Load Tool Adapter (09932-78340). Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, retrieve DTCs. If DTC B1015 is current, go to next step. If DTC B1015 is not current, replace passenger-side air bag module. See PASSENGER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect SDM connector. See SENSING & DIAGNOSTIC MODULE (SDM)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Measure resistance between SDM connector terminal No. 7 (Yellow/Red wire) and No. 8 (Yellow wire). See Figure. If resistance is 4.5 ohms or less, substitute a known-good SDM and retest system. If resistance is more than 4.5 ohms, repair open or high resistance in Yellow/Red wire or Yellow wire. See WIRE REPAIR . Reconnect all components. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Go to AIR BAG DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under DIAGNOSTICS.
