Removal & Installation (Except Grand Vitara, Swift, Vitara & XL-7 W/ABS)

Disconnect fluid level sensor lead wire (if equipped). Using syringe, remove brake fluid from reservoir. Disconnect brakelines on master cylinder. Cap all brakelines, and plug holes. Remove 2 nuts attaching master cylinder to brake booster, and remove master cylinder.

To install, reverse removal procedure. Bench bleed master cylinder and bleed brake system after installation. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM . Check and adjust push rod clevis and piston rod. See BRAKE BOOSTER PUSHROD (BRAKE PEDAL HEIGHT)  and BRAKE BOOSTER PISTON ROD  under ADJUSTMENTS.
