Grand Vitara, Vitara & XL7

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect front wiper/washer switch harness connector. Turn wiper/washer switch to INT position. Turn intermittent time control to FAST position. Using jumper wire, connect 12-volt source to terminal B3 at front wiper/washer switch. See Figure . Connect ground to terminal "E" at front wiper/washer switch connector. Using DVOM, connect positive lead to terminal +1 and negative lead to terminal "E". DVOM should indicate 10-14 volts. Go to next step.
  2. Connect additional jumper wire between terminals As and B3. While observing DVOM, move end of jumper wire from terminal B3 to terminal "E" while opposite end of jumper wire is still connected to terminal As. DVOM should indicate zero volts upon switching jumper wire, and then increase to 10-14 volts within specified time. See Fig 1 . Replace intermittent wiper relay if operation is not as specified.
