Removal & Installation

  1. Raise and support vehicle. Use floor jack to support axle housing. Disconnect parking brake cables from trailing rods. Remove nut and bolt holding shock absorber to rear axle housing. See Fig 1.
  2. Slowly lower axle housing, using care not to stretch brake line or parking brake cable. Remove coil spring. To install, reverse removal procedure. Ensure bottom end of coil spring is against stepped edge of axle spring seat. Tighten all bolts and nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
