Steering Wheel: Removal

  1. Before proceeding, see SERVICE PRECAUTIONS  . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM  .
  2. Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect electrical connectors and remove inflator module. See DRIVER-SIDE INFLATOR MODULE  . Remove steering wheel retaining nut. Mark steering wheel and shaft for re-assembly reference. Using steering wheel puller, remove steering wheel.
