Disabling Driver-Side Air Bag (1997 Integra)

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect both battery cables and wait at least 3 MINUTES. Remove access panel from steering wheel. See Fig 1. Remove Red short connector from holder on access panel.
    2. WARNING: If SRS Red short connectors are not properly installed, static electricity can deploy air bags and seat belt pretensioners (if equipped).

  2. Disconnect air bag connector from cable reel connector. Connect Red short connector to air bag connector. Driver-side air bag is now disabled. Disable passenger-side air bag.
