Removal (Samurai)

  1. Remove intake and exhaust manifolds as previously described. Remove timing belt. See appropriate TIMING BELT section under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION  .
  2. Loosen cylinder head bolts in reverse order of tightening sequence. See Figure . Loosen head bolts in 2 or 3 steps to prevent cylinder head warpage. Remove bolts and cylinder head.
