Diagnostics with Phenomenon: Inspection
Trouble symptom:
The airbag ON/OFF indicator shows the following status.
- The CRS is installed on the passenger's seat, and when a child occupies the seat, the airbag ON indicator comes on, and the airbag OFF indicator goes out.
- When an adult occupies the passenger's seat, the airbag ON indicator goes out, and the airbag OFF indicator comes on.
CAUTION:
Before performing diagnosis, refer to "CAUTION" in "General Description". Ref. to AIRBAG (DIAGNOSTICS)>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION .
- CHECK DTC

Read the DTC of [Airbag] using the Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to AIRBAG (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .
Are any DTCs displayed?
Yes: Perform the diagnosis for the displayed DTCs. Ref. to AIRBAG (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC)>LIST .
No: Perform [Rezeroing] for the occupant detection system. Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>REZERO .
NOTE:
In the following cases, the fault may not be fixed even if [Rezeroing] is performed.
If the fault is not fixed even after [Rezeroing] is performed, encourage children and adults of small stature to sit on the rear seat for safety reasons.
- When the CRS + child weight detected is high (e.g., heavy CRS or a child of heavy build)
- When the adult weight detected is low (e.g., an adult of small stature)
