CAUTION: Before performing diagnosis, refer to "CAUTION" in "General Description". Ref. to COCKPIT CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION .
  1. CHECK DTC  .
    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    2. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, perform the clear memory of [Cockpit Control]. Ref. to COMMON (DIAGNOSTICS)>CLEAR MEMORY .
    3. Turn the ignition switch OFF → ON.
    4. Read the DTC of [Cockpit Control] using the Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to COCKPIT CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .

Is DTC B2253 displayed? (Current code)

    Yes  : GO TO  2.

No  : Even if DTC is displayed, the circuit has returned to a normal condition at this time.

Reproduce the failure, and then perform the diagnosis again.

NOTE: In this case, temporary poor contact of connector, temporary open or short circuit of harness may be the cause.
  2. CHECK CONNECTOR  .
    1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
    2. Disconnect the audio amplifier connector.
    3. Disconnect the cockpit control module connector.
    4. Check for poor contact of connectors.

    Is the check result OK?

    Yes  : GO TO  3.

No  : Repair or replace the poor contact of connector.

  3. CHECK FOR HARNESS OPEN CIRCUIT (BETWEEN COCKPIT CONTROL MODULE AND AUDIO AMPLIFIER)  .

Using the tester, check the resistance between cockpit control module connector and audio amplifier connector.

Is the resistance less than 1 Ω?

    Yes  : GO TO  4.

No  : Repair the harness or replace the components.

  4. CHECK FOR HARNESS OPEN CIRCUIT (BETWEEN AUDIO AMPLIFIER AND EACH SPEAKER)  .
    1. Disconnect each speaker connector and DCM connector.
    2. Using the tester, check the resistance between each speaker connector and audio amplifier connector terminal, between audio amplifier connector and DCM connector, or between DCM connector and each speaker.
