Oil Temperature Sensor: Inspection
- Check that there is no deformation, cracks or other damages.
- Check the oil temperature sensor.
- Immerse the oil temperature sensor and a thermometer in water.CAUTION: Make sure that water does not get into the oil temperature sensor connector.
If water gets into the connector, completely remove any water inside.(A) Thermometer (B) Oil temperature sensor (C) Hexagonal part height: To approx. 2/3 - Raise water temperature gradually, and check the resistance when the temperature is 20°C (68°F) and 80°C (176°F).NOTE:
- During the test, agitate the water for even temperature distribution.
- Take the resistance value only after it becomes steady.
- After inspection, remove the water completely.
