Rear Quarter Trim: Removal
CAUTION:
- Before handling the airbag system components, refer to "CAUTION" of "General Description" in "AIRBAG SYSTEM". Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION .
- Side impact sensor (under the rear center seat) for the airbag system is located under the front center of the rear seat cushion. Be careful not to apply strong impact to the sensor when working with the rear seat cushion removed.
NOTE:
Components: Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>COMPONENT>INNER TRIM .
- Disconnect the ground terminal from the battery sensor, and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
- Remove the rear seat cushion assembly. Ref. to SEATS>REAR SEAT>REMOVAL .
- Remove the cover side sill rear UPR.
- Release the clips and claws.
- Remove the cover side sill rear UPR.CAUTION: Do not pull with excessive force. Doing so may damage the claws of the cover side sill rear UPR.NOTE: Remove the metal clip left on the flange section of the vehicle body, and install it to the cover side sill rear UPR.
- Remove the mat floor rear.
- Remove the spacer side. (Model with spare tire)
- Release the clips.
- Remove the spacer side.
- Remove the trim panel assembly rear skirt.
- Remove the clip at the trim front side.
- Release the claw at both ends.
- Pull up and release the clip.
- Remove the trim panel assembly rear skirt.CAUTION: Expand the trim front side and remove the claw (a) to pull it up.
- Remove the spacer front.
- Remove the trim panel assembly apron.
- Remove the bolts, and then remove the luggage hook.
- Remove the screws.
- Release the claws and clips.
- Remove the trim panel assembly apron.CAUTION:
- Forcibly removing the clips near the seat belt lower anchor bolts may deform or damage the clip base. Use a clip remover for operation.
- The fitting surface of the clip (A) is in a recessed area. Use a tool such as bent nose clip pliers to prevent scratching the parts.
- Remove the trim panel assembly D pillar.
- Remove the lower anchor bolts of seat belts.
- Remove the cap belt.NOTE: If the cap belt cannot be removed, remove the trim panel assembly D pillar first.
- Release the clips and claws.
- Remove the trim panel assembly D pillar.
