Seat Cushion Airbag Module: Removal

CAUTION:
  • Refer to "CAUTION" of "General Description" before handling the airbag system components. Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION .
  • If the protection felt for the seat cushion airbag module is broken or damaged, replace the seat cushion airbag module with a new part.
NOTE: Components: Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>COMPONENT>SEAT CUSHION AIRBAG MODULE (PASSENGER'S SIDE) .
  1. Prior to starting work, check the following precautions. Ref. to SEATS>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION .
  2. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
  3. Disconnect the ground terminal from the battery sensor, and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  4. Remove the passenger's seat. Ref. to SEATS>FRONT SEAT>REMOVAL .
  5. Disassemble the seat, and then remove the seat pad assembly cushion and the cover cushion front seat. Ref. to SEATS>FRONT SEAT>DISASSEMBLY .
  6. Remove the seat cushion airbag module.
    1. Remove the nut.
    2. Remove the seat cushion airbag module.

      Meaning of pictograms indicated on the label
    (A) Flammable explosive substance encapsulated parts; be careful of handling.
    (B) Indicates that this part is an airbag module.
    (C) Before handling, always refer to "CAUTION" of "General Description" in "AIRBAG SYSTEM" in the service information.
      For the disposal procedures of the airbag modules, refer to "Airbag Module Disposal"
    (D) Do not disassemble the airbag module.
