Front Exhaust Pipe: Installation

  1. Install the turbocharger stay.

    Tightening torque: 

    19 N.m (1.9 kgf-m, 14.0 ft-lb)

  2. Using a new gasket, temporarily install the front exhaust pipe, center exhaust pipe (front) and turbo charger as a unit.
    CAUTION: Be sure to install the front exhaust pipe to the cylinder head.
    NOTE: Support the front exhaust pipe with the transmission jack.
  3. Tighten the nuts in the numerical order as shown in the figure.

    Tightening torque: 

    65 N.m (6.6 kgf-m, 47.9 ft-lb)

  4. Install the bolts securing the exhaust stay.

    Tightening torque: 

    33 N.m (3.4 kgf-m, 24.3 ft-lb)

  5. Install the oil catch tank. Ref. to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DOTC)>OIL CATCH TANK>INSTALLATION .
  6. Connect the electronic wastegate valve connector (A) and the electronic air by-pass valve connector (B).

  7. Connect the rear oxygen sensor connector and ground cord.

    Tightening torque: 

    7.5 N.m (0.8 kgf-m, 5.5 ft-lb)

  8. Connect the front oxygen (A/F) sensor connector, and install the clip.

  9. Install the intake duct No. 1. Ref. to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DOTC)>INTAKE DUCT>INSTALLATION>INTAKE DUCT NO. 1 .
  10. Install the center exhaust pipe (rear). Ref. to EXHAUST (H4DOTC)>CENTER EXHAUST PIPE>INSTALLATION>CENTER EXHAUST PIPE (REAR) .
  11. Install the intake duct No. 2. Ref. to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DOTC)>INTAKE DUCT>INSTALLATION>INTAKE DUCT NO. 2 .
  12. Temporarily tighten the bolts which hold the turbocharger stay.

  13. Tighten the bolts which hold the turbocharger stay in the numerical order shown in the figure.

    Tightening torque: 

    33 N.m (3.4 kgf-m, 24.3 ft-lb)

  14. Use a new gasket to connect the oil pipe to the chain cover.

    Tightening torque: 

    24 N.m (2.4 kgf-m, 17.7 ft-lb)

  15. Connect the water hose to the water tank pipe assembly.

  16. Install the air intake duct. Ref. to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DOTC)>AIR INTAKE DUCT>INSTALLATION .
  17. Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  18. Fill engine coolant. Ref. to COOLING (H4DOTC)>ENGINE COOLANT>REPLACEMENT>FILLING OF ENGINE COOLANT .
  19. Check the engine oil level and replenish the engine oil if necessary. Ref. to LUBRICATION (H4DOTC)>ENGINE OIL>INSPECTION .
