DTC C1821: Brake Temperature Abnormal

DTC detecting condition: 

This code is recorded when the estimated value of temperature under braking is above certain threshold and therefore the conditions for control intervention are met.

Trouble symptom: 

• Traction control does not operate.
• Hill descent control does not operate.
• Active torque vectoring does not operate.

1. CHECK DTC  .
   1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
   2. Read the DTC using Subaru Select Monitor, Ref. to BRAKE CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .

   Is DTC C1821 a current code?

   Yes:  Stop the vehicle and turn off the engine until the DTC becomes a history code.

   No:  It results from a temporal increase in brake temperature. Check the brake pads, disc rotors, and brake fluid.
