Detect the malfunction of characteristics in lock-up fluid pressure control solenoid and hydraulic circuit, or drive circuit (stuck to high pressure side), while lock-up is prohibited to promote engine warm-up immediately after cold start.
Judge as NG if the deviation between engine speed and turbine speed becomes equal to or smaller than the predetermined value, even though the lock-up is prohibited as above.
