Before performing diagnosis, refer to "CAUTION" in "General Description". Ref. to POWER WINDOW (DIAGNOSTICS) >GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION
- CHECK MALFUNCTIONS
.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Operate the front power window sub-switch and check that the power window (passenger's side) works in manual operation.
Does the power window operate manually according to switch operation?
Yes : Go to 2.
No : Perform the diagnosis for "When the passenger's switch is operated, the passenger's side power window does not work in manual operation". Ref. to POWER WINDOW (DIAGNOSTICS) >DIAGNOSTICS WITH PHENOMENON>INSPECTION>WHEN THE PASSENGER'S SWITCH IS OPERATED, THE PASSENGER'S SIDE POWER WINDOW DOES NOT WORK IN MANUAL OPERATION
- CHECK DTC
.
Using the Subaru Select Monitor, read the DTCs of [Power Window (Switch)] and [Power Window (Passenger)]. Ref. to POWER WINDOW (DIAGNOSTICS) >DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC)
- Power Window (Switch)
- Power Window (Passenger)
Are any DTCs displayed?
Yes : Perform the diagnosis for the displayed DTCs. Ref. to POWER WINDOW (DIAGNOSTICS) >DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC)>LIST
No : Go to 3.
- CHECK [ECU Control Mode] (DATA MONITOR)
.
Using the Subaru Select Monitor, check the following items in the [Data Monitor] of [Power Window (Passenger)]. Ref. to POWER WINDOW (DIAGNOSTICS) >DATA MONITOR
- ECU Control Mode
Is [Initialized] displayed?
Yes : Go to 4.
No : Using the Subaru Select Monitor, perform [System Initialization] of [Power Window (Passenger)]. Ref. to POWER WINDOW (DIAGNOSTICS) >WORK SUPPORT>OPERATION>SYSTEM INITIALIZATION
Then, perform the initial setting of the power window. Ref. to GLASS/WINDOWS/MIRRORS>POWER WINDOW SYSTEM>OPERATION
- CHECK [One's Seat Switch] (DATA MONITOR)
.
Using the Subaru Select Monitor, check the following items in the [Data Monitor] of [Power Window (Passenger)]. Ref. to POWER WINDOW (DIAGNOSTICS) >DATA MONITOR
- One's Seat Switch
Does the display change corresponding to the switch operation?
Yes : Replace the front regulator & motor assembly (passenger's side). Ref. to GLASS/WINDOWS/MIRRORS>FRONT REGULATOR AND MOTOR ASSEMBLY
No : Go to 5.
- CHECK FRONT POWER WINDOW SUB-SWITCH
.
- Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
- Disconnect the front power window sub-switch connector.
- Perform the inspection of front power window sub-switch unit. Ref. to GLASS/WINDOWS/MIRRORS>POWER WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH
Is the check result OK?
Yes : Go to 6.
No : Replace the front power window sub-switch. Ref. to GLASS/WINDOWS/MIRRORS>POWER WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH
- CHECK HARNESS (OPEN CIRCUIT)
.
- Disconnect the front regulator & motor assembly (passenger's side) connector.
- Using a tester, measure the resistance between front power window sub-switch connector and front regulator & motor assembly (passenger's side) connector.
Connector & terminal
(Df35) No. 1 - (Df51) No. 4:
Is the resistance less than 1 Ω?
Yes : Go to 7.
No : Repair the open circuit of the harness between front power window sub-switch connector and front regulator & motor assembly (passenger's side) connector.
- CHECK HARNESS (SHORT CIRCUIT TO POWER SUPPLY)
.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Using a tester, measure the voltage between the front power window sub-switch connector and chassis ground.
Connector & terminal
(Df35) No. 1 (+) - Chassis ground (-):
Is the voltage less than 1 V?
Yes : Replace the front regulator & motor assembly (passenger's side). Ref. to GLASS/WINDOWS/MIRRORS>FRONT REGULATOR AND MOTOR ASSEMBLY
No : Repair the short circuit to power supply in the harness between front power window sub-switch connector and front regulator & motor assembly (passenger's side) connector.
