When The Passenger's Switch Is Operated, The Passenger's Side Power Window Does Not Work In Automatic Operation

CAUTION:

Before performing diagnosis, refer to "CAUTION" in "General Description". Ref. to  POWER WINDOW (DIAGNOSTICS) >GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION  

  1. CHECK MALFUNCTIONS  .
    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    2. Operate the front power window sub-switch and check that the power window (passenger's side) works in manual operation.

    Does the power window operate manually according to switch operation?

    Yes  : Go to  2.

    No  : Perform the diagnosis for "When the passenger's switch is operated, the passenger's side power window does not work in manual operation". Ref. to POWER WINDOW (DIAGNOSTICS) >DIAGNOSTICS WITH PHENOMENON>INSPECTION>WHEN THE PASSENGER'S SWITCH IS OPERATED, THE PASSENGER'S SIDE POWER WINDOW DOES NOT WORK IN MANUAL OPERATION 

  2. CHECK DTC  .

    Using the Subaru Select Monitor, read the DTCs of [Power Window (Switch)] and [Power Window (Passenger)]. Ref. to POWER WINDOW (DIAGNOSTICS) >DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) 

    • Power Window (Switch)
    • Power Window (Passenger)

    Are any DTCs displayed?

    Yes  : Perform the diagnosis for the displayed DTCs. Ref. to POWER WINDOW (DIAGNOSTICS) >DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC)>LIST 

    No  : Go to  3.

  3. CHECK [ECU Control Mode] (DATA MONITOR)  .

    Using the Subaru Select Monitor, check the following items in the [Data Monitor] of [Power Window (Passenger)]. Ref. to POWER WINDOW (DIAGNOSTICS) >DATA MONITOR 

    • ECU Control Mode

    Is [Initialized] displayed?

    Yes  : Go to  4.

    No  : Using the Subaru Select Monitor, perform [System Initialization] of [Power Window (Passenger)]. Ref. to POWER WINDOW (DIAGNOSTICS) >WORK SUPPORT>OPERATION>SYSTEM INITIALIZATION 

    Then, perform the initial setting of the power window. Ref. to GLASS/WINDOWS/MIRRORS>POWER WINDOW SYSTEM>OPERATION

  4. CHECK [One's Seat Switch] (DATA MONITOR)  .

    Using the Subaru Select Monitor, check the following items in the [Data Monitor] of [Power Window (Passenger)]. Ref. to POWER WINDOW (DIAGNOSTICS) >DATA MONITOR 

    • One's Seat Switch

    Does the display change corresponding to the switch operation?

    Yes  : Replace the front regulator & motor assembly (passenger's side). Ref. to GLASS/WINDOWS/MIRRORS>FRONT REGULATOR AND MOTOR ASSEMBLY

    No  : Go to  5.

  5. CHECK FRONT POWER WINDOW SUB-SWITCH  .
    1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
    2. Disconnect the front power window sub-switch connector.
    3. Perform the inspection of front power window sub-switch unit. Ref. to GLASS/WINDOWS/MIRRORS>POWER WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH

    Is the check result OK?

    Yes  : Go to  6.

    No  : Replace the front power window sub-switch. Ref. to GLASS/WINDOWS/MIRRORS>POWER WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH

  6. CHECK HARNESS (OPEN CIRCUIT)  .
    1. Disconnect the front regulator & motor assembly (passenger's side) connector.
    2. Using a tester, measure the resistance between front power window sub-switch connector and front regulator & motor assembly (passenger's side) connector.

      Connector & terminal 

      (Df35) No. 1 - (Df51) No. 4:

    Is the resistance less than 1 Ω?

    Yes  : Go to  7.

    No  : Repair the open circuit of the harness between front power window sub-switch connector and front regulator & motor assembly (passenger's side) connector.

  7. CHECK HARNESS (SHORT CIRCUIT TO POWER SUPPLY)  .
    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    2. Using a tester, measure the voltage between the front power window sub-switch connector and chassis ground.

      Connector & terminal 

      (Df35) No. 1 (+) - Chassis ground (-):

    Is the voltage less than 1 V?

    Yes  : Replace the front regulator & motor assembly (passenger's side). Ref. to GLASS/WINDOWS/MIRRORS>FRONT REGULATOR AND MOTOR ASSEMBLY

    No  : Repair the short circuit to power supply in the harness between front power window sub-switch connector and front regulator & motor assembly (passenger's side) connector.
