Rear Seat: Disassembly

  1. Prior to starting work, check the following precautions. Ref. to SEATS>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION 
  2. Remove the rear seat. Ref. to SEATS>REAR SEAT>REMOVAL 
  3. Remove the headrest assembly.
  4. Remove the knob rear backrest.

  5. Remove the armrest assembly rear seat. (Models with armrest)
    1. Slide to remove the cover.
    2. Remove the bolts, and remove the armrest assembly rear seat.

  6. Remove the cover backrest rear seat and seat pad assembly rear backrest.
    1. Detach the plastic fastener at the bottom of backrest assembly, and turn over the cover backrest rear seat.

    2. Detach the plastic fasteners on the right and left of the backrest assembly.

    3. Remove the bushing headrest and knob guide.
      NOTE:

      Catch the tip of headrest bushing with pliers and push it from inside seat to outside to remove it.

    4. Remove the cover backrest rear seat and seat pad assembly rear backrest.
  7. Remove the bolt and remove the hinge assembly rear seat.

  8. Remove the lock assembly.
    CAUTION:

    Pay attention to the burrs on the panel edge. 

    1. Disconnect the connector.
    2. Remove the bolts, and remove the lock assembly.

  9. Remove the hog rings, then remove the cover backrest rear seat.
    CAUTION:
    • If the seat heater unit is removed, replace the seat pad assembly with a new part. 
    • If the seat heater unit is reused, remove the polyurethane section and double-sided tape from the reverse side completely. Use new double-sided tape. 

      Preparation items: 

      Double-sided tape: NITTO DENKO 501L or equivalent 

    • Model without armrest

  10. Remove the hog rings on the back side of the rear seat cushion assembly.

  11. Remove the hog rings, then remove the cover cushion rear seat.
    CAUTION:
    • If the seat heater unit is removed, replace the seat pad assembly with a new part. 
    • If the seat heater unit is reused, remove the polyurethane section and double-sided tape from the reverse side completely. Use new double-sided tape. 

      Preparation items: 

      Double-sided tape: NITTO DENKO 501L or equivalent 

    • If the seating sensor mat is removed, replace the pad & frame assembly rear cushion and the seating sensor mat with new parts. If the seating sensor mat is reused, the detection may not operate properly.
