Rear Seat: Assembly

CAUTION:
  • If the seating sensor mat is removed, replace the pad & frame assembly rear cushion and the seating sensor mat with new parts. If the seating sensor mat is reused, the detection may not operate properly. 
  • Do not reuse the hog ring and hang wire. 
  • Secure the hog ring using hog ring pliers. 
  • Install the hog rings to the specified points securely and make sure that there is no wrinkle or twisting on the rear seat backrest cover and rear seat cushion cover. 
  1. Assemble the cover cushion rear seat and the pad & frame assembly rear cushion in the same manner as the front seat. Ref. to SEATS>FRONT SEAT>ASSEMBLY 
    CAUTION:
    • If the seat heater unit is removed, replace the seat pad assembly with a new part. 
    • If the seat heater unit is reused, remove the polyurethane section and double-sided tape from the reverse side completely. Use new double-sided tape. 

      Preparation items: 

      Double-sided tape: NITTO DENKO 501L or equivalent 

    NOTE:
    • Do not contaminate or damage the seat surface and seat pad. 
    • While installing the hog rings, prevent the seat surface from getting wrinkled. 
    1. Install the hog rings, and assemble the cover cushion rear seat and the pad & frame assembly rear cushion.

    2. Install the hog rings on the back side of the rear seat cushion assembly.

  2. Install the lock assembly.

    Tightening torque: 

    18 N.m (1.8 kgf-m, 13.3 ft-lb)

  3. Install the hinge assembly rear seat.

    Tightening torque: 

    29 N.m (3.0 kgf-m, 21.4 ft-lb)

  4. Install the cover backrest rear seat to the frame assembly rear backrest.
  5. Install the bushing headrest and the bushing lock headrest.
    NOTE:

    Check the shape and front/rear directions before assembling the headrest bushing.

  6. Tighten the fastener on backside of the backrest assembly, and install the plastic fastener.
  7. Install the armrest assembly rear seat. (Models with armrest)

    Tightening torque: 

    14.6 N.m (1.5 kgf-m, 10.8 ft-lb)

  8. Install the knob rear backrest.
  9. Install the headrest assembly.
  10. Check that there is no tear or fray on the seat surface.
  11. Install the rear seat. Ref. to SEATS>REAR SEAT>INSTALLATION
